Buying and selling second hand iPhone

The iPhone is a good device and everyone wants one, but it is not cheap, and it is rarely sold. So, if you want to get an iPhone without paying the full price, buying a used iPhone might be your best bet. While a used iPhone can be a good thing, there are a few things to keep in mind.

Are Updated iPhones Good and Reliable?

You may have some concerns about buying a used or updated second hand Apple iPhone. It makes sense to wonder if the used iPhone is as good and reliable as the new model. The answer is: depending on where you buy the iPhone. If you buy from a well-established, reputable, and well-trained source — think of Apple and the telecommunications company — you might think that an updated iPhone is a good iPhone. Be very skeptical of less respected retailers.

Find the Right Phone for Your Phone Company

Every iPhone model that starts with the iPhone 5 works on all mobile corporate networks. However, it is important to note that the AT&T network uses an additional LTE signal that others may not use, which may mean faster service in some areas. If you buy an iPhone that was designed for Verizon and take it to AT&T, you may not be able to access that extra LTE signal. Ask the dealer for the iPhone model number  and check to make sure it works with your phone company.

Make sure the Phone is Unlocked

Even if you have the right iPhone model, it is a good idea to call your phone company before buying to make sure it can unlock the phone. To do this, obtain the IMEI or MEID number of the phone by following the steps above or ask the seller. Then call your network company, describe the situation, and give the network company the phone's IMEI or MEID number. The company should be able to tell you if the phone is compatible.

Check Battery for Used iPhone

Since it does not make sense to replace the second hand Apple iPhone battery, make sure that any used iPhone you buy has a solid battery. A less used iPhone should have decent battery life, but anything over a year old should be tested. Check battery life on phones running iOS 12 and up using Battery Health feature:
